Writer Blocks is an independent magazine based in Philadelphia and operated completely by artists.
Founded by singer / songwriter Traycee Lynn in 2002, Writer Blocks covers a wide variety of writing from hip-hop, songwriting, spoken word, and screen writing. Interviews vary from mainstream icons (Common, Kevin Liles, Jill Scott, Saul Williams and more) to up and coming local artists and writers.
It has been a one-stop shop and local guide for artists and writers looking for venues to perform with its Mic-Check Open-Mic list.
Writer Blocks has also launched mixtapes (Exhibit A released in 2007 in response to the murder rate in Philadelphia) and soon coming in late 2008, it will release its first book.
